Hydro-dermabrasion in downtown St. Petersburg

Two hundred and twenty-five dollars for a deep resurfacing facial that exfoliates and hydrates at the same time rather than one after the other. Diamond tip and water working together, extractions, an oxygen step, and a cold handpiece over a custom mask to finish.

You walk out looking like you've done something. That's the honest appeal of this one — the result is immediate and visible rather than something that builds over six weeks.

Who it's for

Skin that looks dull, congested or tired. Blackheads around the nose. Texture you can feel with your fingertips. Makeup that's stopped sitting flat.

It's the treatment people book before a wedding, a holiday, a photograph or a birthday — anything where they want their skin looking its best on a known date.

Not suitable for severe acne. If your skin is currently breaking out badly, say so when you book and Desiree will steer you somewhere more appropriate.

How it differs from microdermabrasion

Classic microdermabrasion is dry. It abrades the surface with crystals or a diamond tip and that's the whole mechanism, which is effective and can be harsh.

Hydro-dermabrasion runs water alongside the diamond tip. The exfoliation happens while the skin is being flooded rather than stripped, which makes it considerably more comfortable and means you don't leave tight and raw.

This or nano infusion?

Both are $225, both have no downtime, and they do genuinely different things.

Hydro-dermabrasion is the deep clean. Exfoliation, extractions, immediate glow. Book it when your skin looks congested or dull, or when you have a date in the diary.

Nano infusion is the build. It doesn't exfoliate in the same way — it works on texture and firmness over weeks, and it's the one to book as a course.

If you want to look better on Saturday, this one. If you want your skin to be different in two months, nano infusion. Plenty of people alternate.

What's included

Cleansing, then the simultaneous diamond and water exfoliation, then extractions where they're needed. An oxygen step follows to hydrate. It finishes with a custom mask and a cold handpiece, which settles any redness and leaves the skin feeling tight in the good sense.

You can add a dermaplane, which removes the fine surface hair and lets everything afterwards absorb better. Most people who add it once keep adding it.

Aftercare

No makeup for the rest of the day, and skip heat, saunas and heavy exercise for 24 hours. Sunscreen the next morning matters — freshly exfoliated skin burns more easily.

Keep acids and retinoids off for 48 hours.

Questions people ask

Does it hurt?

No. The water is the reason — it's a far more comfortable experience than dry microdermabrasion, and most people find the extractions the only part they notice.

Is there any downtime?

None. You may be slightly pink for an hour or two, and that's it.

How soon before an event should I book it?

Two to three days beforehand is ideal. It's fine the day before, but a couple of days gives any pinkness time to settle completely.

How often can I have it?

Every four to six weeks is a comfortable rhythm for most people. Ask Desiree what suits your skin rather than booking on a schedule.

Should I add the dermaplane?

If you want maximum smoothness and better product absorption afterwards, yes. If your skin is reactive, ask first.

My skin is breaking out badly — can I still book?

Not this one. Cold plasma is the appropriate treatment while skin is flaring, and Desiree will tell you honestly when you're ready for this instead.

Book it with something else

Nano infusion — the slower-building alternative at the same price
Dermaplane add-on — the upgrade most people keep
