Twenty-two dollars for brows that read fuller, darker and more even, lasting two to three weeks. A semi-permanent tint is worked through the brow hair, covering greys and evening out patchy colour.

It's the quickest, cheapest thing on the brow menu, and for a lot of people it's the only thing they need.

Who it's for

Anyone who's started finding grey or white hairs in their brows — which happens far earlier than most people expect, and is the single most common reason clients book this.

Also anyone with fair or light brows that disappear in photographs, anyone whose brows have thinned with age, and anyone currently drawing them on every morning who'd rather not.

What it does

It colours the hair. Sparse patches look fuller because the hairs that are there become visible, and the gaps between them read as less obvious.

What it doesn't do is add hair. If your brows are genuinely thin, tinting makes the most of what's there — it doesn't create more. Desiree will tell you honestly which of those you're dealing with.

What to expect

Quick. Desiree cleans the brow, mixes a tint to match the depth you want, brushes it through the hair, leaves it to develop for a few minutes, then wipes it away.

You'll see the result immediately, and it's one of the few treatments where you can walk straight back out with no downtime.

How long it lasts

Two to three weeks on the hair. The skin underneath may hold a little colour for the first day or so, which makes the brow look slightly bolder at first — that settles quickly and the hair colour is what remains.

Aftercare

Keep them dry for 24 hours. After that, avoid scrubbing the area with anything exfoliating, and go gently with oil-based cleansers and makeup removers around the brow — oil lifts tint faster than anything else.

Questions people ask

Will it cover grey brow hairs?

Yes. Grey and white hairs take colour differently from pigmented ones, so Desiree adjusts the mix and the timing for it.

How long does it last?

Two to three weeks on the hair.

Will it stain my skin?

Slightly, for a day or so. The skin holds a faint tint that most people like, and it fades on its own.

Can I stop using brow pencil?

Most people do, or find they only bother on the days they want a sharper shape.

Is it safe?

Yes. The tint is semi-permanent and formulated for use on the skin. If you have sensitive skin or react to hair dye, say so when you book and Desiree will patch test first.
