Hard wax on the lip and chin where the skin is thin, and a proper shaping on the brows rather than a quick tidy. Desiree has been a licensed esthetician since 1995.

Who it's for

Anyone already booking these one at a time. It's the most popular combination on the menu because those three areas tend to need attention on the same schedule — roughly every three to four weeks.

It's also the natural starting point if you've never had facial waxing and aren't sure what you need. These three cover most of what people notice in the mirror.

What's included

Brow shaping, which is a shape built to suit your face rather than a template. Upper lip, and the lower lip too if you want it. Chin and along the jaw where hair tends to be coarser.

The whole appointment runs around twenty minutes.

What to expect

Desiree cleanses each area, works through them in turn with the wax suited to the skin, and finishes with something soothing.

You'll be pink around the treated areas for an hour or two. Nothing that stops you going back to work, though if you've got something in the evening you'll be completely settled by then.

Before you come in

Let the hair grow for about two weeks. Hair that's too short won't lift and you'll be back sooner than you want to be.

Tell Desiree when you book if you use a retinoid, Accutane, or any prescription acne treatment. These thin the skin and waxing over them can lift it.

Aftercare

No makeup over the treated areas for the rest of the day. Skip heat, saunas, steam rooms and direct sun for 24 hours, and keep exfoliants and acids off those areas for 48.

Hands off, and don't tweeze the stragglers — that's where ingrown hairs come from.
