Thirty-two dollars for brows shaped and upper lip waxed in the same appointment. Booked separately they come to thirty-nine, so this saves you seven dollars and a second trip.

It's the lighter version of the full combination — the two areas people notice first, without the chin. Desiree has been a licensed esthetician since 1995.

Who it's for

Anyone who wants their brows properly shaped and the upper lip dealt with, but doesn't need anything else done. It's the most common pairing on the menu after brows on their own.

If chin hair is also a concern, the three-area combination costs ten dollars more and covers it.

What's included

Brow shaping — a shape mapped to your face rather than a standard arch, using wax rather than thread. And the upper lip, with hard wax, which grips the hair instead of the skin on an area that thin.

The appointment takes about fifteen minutes.

What to expect

Desiree shapes the brows first, then the lip, and finishes with something soothing on both.

You'll be pink around the brows and above the lip for an hour or so. It fades faster than most people expect, and makeup goes on fine the next morning.

Before you come in

Let the hair grow for about two weeks so there's enough for the wax to grip. This matters for the brows especially — too short and the shape can't be built properly.

Tell Desiree when you book if you use a retinoid, Accutane, or any prescription acne treatment. These thin the skin, and the brow and lip areas are exactly where you'd notice.

Aftercare

No makeup over either area for the rest of the day. Avoid heat, saunas and direct sun for 24 hours, and keep exfoliants and acids away from both areas for 48.

Don't tweeze the stragglers between appointments — it undoes the shape Desiree built and is where ingrown hairs come from.

Does brow waxing hurt more than the lip?

Most people find the lip sharper and the brows more noticeable, but both are over in seconds.

Should I add the chin?

If you're noticing hair along the jaw, yes — the three-area combination covers it for ten dollars more, which is less than adding a chin wax separately.
