What to expect

You're in and out in minutes. A small amount of hard wax goes onto a disposable applicator, is held briefly, then removed. Your eyes will probably water — that's a reflex, not pain, and it stops straight away.

Results last four to five weeks.

Aftercare

Leave the area alone for the rest of the day — no picking, no tweezing at stragglers. Skip saunas, steam rooms and heavy sun for 24 hours. Any redness at the nostril rim settles within an hour or two.

Does it hurt?

Less than people expect. It's over in about a second, and hard wax is far gentler on delicate skin than strip wax.

How long does it last?

Four to five weeks for most people.

Is it safe to wax nose hair?

Yes, when it's the visible hair at the rim and done by someone trained. What isn't a good idea is going deeper than that — which is exactly why Desiree doesn't.

Can I just do it myself at home?

You can, but it's harder than it looks. Controlling how far in the wax goes and getting the angle right on yourself in a mirror is the difficult part. For seventeen dollars and a minute, it isn't much of a saving.

Will it grow back thicker?

No. That's a myth about shaving. Waxing takes hair from the root, and regrowth tends to come back finer.
